Our weekends always seem to be pretty busy. Friday night we went to The Roost for our typically family night out, followed a screening of Tangled. Saturdays usually consist of taking Peyton to art class. We often times have a birthday party or some other event that keeps us on the go. Ryan and I were able to make time for date night on Saturday night which is always a big treat…I just wish we could have them more often. We had dinner at Maggiano’s Little Italy and then walked around the Fashion Mall for a few before heading back to Fishers to have a dessert and drinks at Houlihan’s.
Sunday I got to sleep in until 8 and then lay around and watch an episode of HGTV’s Curb Appeal before I headed outside to finish up my garden and do a little more of my flower planting…it seems like I spend weeks on this process (and, of course, I enjoy every minute of it!). I got back in just in time to see my favorite Sunday morning show, Yard Crashers…if only I could be in the right place at the right time to get a little yard makeover…wishful thinking!!! For now I will have to keep making my oasis one bit at a time.
Peyton had a play date (she has quite an active social life!!!) and Ryan headed out for his Sunday racquetball game with the guys so most of the day it was just me and little man. We pretty much just hung out and entertained each other most of the afternoon which is not hard to do with an active two-year old!
Sunday is also my day for making lots of chicken for Ryan for the entire week (view the amount of chicken one tiny man can eat in 5 days…just sayin’!) and typically make something for Sunday dinner. Tonight was a bit more laid back so I just made a big pot of Texas chili. It is definitely one of our favorites! My little helper was with me through all of my cooking, helping mow the deck while I was grilling out the chicken…gotta love little boys. The weather was still a bit overcast but warm enough to enjoy our time outdoors; I can’t wait for even more of this great weather!!!
Here soon we will be able to have weekends full of s’mores in our fire pit, lots of grilled food and beautiful plants everywhere. I just can’t wait!!!
